Being able to zoom with a flick of the finger is a luxury we’ve gotten quite accustomed to. The problem is that quality photos taken at ultra zoom tend to come from larger, heavier cameras. Canon PowerShot SX230 HS Digital Camera

The Canon PowerShot SX230 features a versatile 14x lens paired with a 12.1-megapixel image sensor for sharp images from sizeable distances. The lens zooms out to 28mm for wider shots and captures 1080p HD video in several settings. This camera features the GPS-tracking function for tagging photos with the location where they were taken. One drawback is the pop-up flash which is located where the left hand would normally rest. It is a little pricey, but this is a full-featured camera that leaves little to be desired.

The lens on the Sony Cyber-shot isn’t quite as powerful as the Canon, but the 10x optical zoom lens and 10.2 megapixel CMOS sensor consistently produce quality images. Features like GPS-tagging and settings like Intelligent Auto mode, Intelligent Sweep Panorama mode and continuous shooting making capturing images near effortless. However, there are a few manual controls for devoted enthusiasts. The movie mode is top-notch and the camera detects faces and moving objects then auto adjusts to avoid distortion. Heavy sound reduction results in a slight decrease of image sharpness, but it’s a top performing camera overall.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS8 Digital Camera

Though the Lumix ZS10 may pack more features, this camera is the better all-around choice. The 16x optical zoom Leica lens works with Panasonic’s Venus Engine VI for amazing image quality. Though not feature-packed, it still has a high-resolution touchscreen, geotagging, 1080i video capturing and good battery life. Like other cameras in this class, it has average low light performance, but this camera also has a 14.1 megapixel image sensor for photos that are amazingly sharp.

Yes, you now have the right to browse privately on your Android phone with Firefox Beta. Firefox has introduced the “Do Not Track” feature in their latest build for Android. It is the first mobile Web browser to offer the “Do Not Track” privacy feature.

The Do Not Track feature gives more control to users over the way their browsing history is tracked and used online. The feature behaves just like private browsing and enables users to tell websites if they prefer to stay anonymous or not.

Do Not Track - Firefox for Android

To enable the feature, open Settings and click on the button that says “Tell sites not to track me.” Once you’ve enabled the Do Not Track feature, you can test it by using Microsoft’s Do Not Track Test Page.

Firefox Beta for Android is available for download from the Android Market. Download the browser and test the next version of Firefox on your phone.

The update also includes some speed improvements and better compatibility with the SwiftKey keyboard for Android.

Here are the steps to remove the Mac Defender malware from your Mac -:

Step 1 – Open up Activity Monitor, and select the option to view ‘All process’ from the drop down list.

Step 2 – Find the ‘MacDefender’ process from the list of running processes, and then click on the ‘Quit Process’ option and finally select the ‘Force Quit’ option.

Step 3 – Now, head over to the Applications folder in your Mac and find the ‘MacDefender’ folder. Right click on the folder, and select the ‘Move To Trash’ option. Empty the Trash folder of your Mac after this.

Step 4 – Fire up Safari on your Mac, and click on the ‘Safari’ option at the top of the screen and select the Reset Safari option.

There might be a possibility that users might not be able to delete the files related to Mac Defender. If so, reboot your Mac into Safe Mode and repeat all the steps stated above.

Alternatively, Mac users can also download and install anti-virus software like Sophos etc. However, some of these anti-viruses might make your Mac unstable or give kernel panics. So I would recommend readers to follow the steps stated above.

Eight weeks after Mozilla rolled out Firefox 4, it has launched a beta version of its fifth edition of the Firefox Web browser on Monday. Firefox 5 is faster and fixes plenty of bugs left over from Firefox 4. It’s new features include performance and stability enhancements, a channel switcher and CSS animations standard.

The channel switcher lets users move between aurora, beta and final releases of the browser and test features at each level of development and quality.

CSS animations allows users animate transitions from one CSS style configuration to another.

Firefox 5 beta also includes opt-in location-aware browsing feature. This feature can tell websites where you’re located so you can find info that’s more relevant and useful and improve your browsing experience.

Mozilla’s first mobile release of Firefox 5 is an Android version of the browser. Both the desktop and mobile versions of Firefox 5 have a Do Not Track feature that lets users browse anonymously.

You can download Firefox 5 beta. If you’ve been using Firefox 5 Aurora, you can switch the channel to continue to use Firefox 5

The final version of Firefox 5 is scheduled for roll-out on June 21.

The usage of cloud-based services is increasing every day. Though good search features are offered by Google for Gmail and Google Docs, it is not always as fast as desktop search. Also unified search results across multiple services are not provided. CloudMagic was developed with these requirements in mind. It offers extremely fast, offline, search-as-you-type feature for online data.

CloudMagic has been launched with Gmail and Google Docs. CloudMagic can search across multiple Google accounts for presentations, spreadsheets, documents etc., and present a unified search result. It also offers instant email message previews as well as drag-and-drop feature for search results.

Online data is indexed and stored in your local hard disk. Relevant text data is indexed leaving out all kinds of attachments and binary data. Only a fraction of the entire data is indexed. So it occupies very little of your hard disk space. The index gets updated automatically when you are online. The indexed web pages need not be kept open for updating an index. You do not need to store passwords with any third party servers because the index is stored in your local hard disk.

Currently CloudMagic is available for Firefox and Chrome. Here are the installation instructions for both the browsers.

Installation on Mozilla Firefox

1. To install CloudMagic in Firefox click Tools > Add-ons in the menu bar to open the Add-ons window and search for “CloudMagic”.

2. Click on the “Add to Firefox” button. The following license agreement window is displayed.

3. Click “Accept and Install” button .Then click on Install Now in the Add-ons window. Once the installation is complete, restart Firefox. The CloudMagic icon will appear in the toolbar as shown below. Click on it to open the CloudMagic page in a new tab.

Installation on Google Chrome

1. To Install the plugin in Chrome open Cloudmagic homepage in Chrome and click the Install Now button.

2. Once the plugin download is complete, click Install as you are prompted to.

3. When the installation is complete the CloudMagic icon is displayed in Chrome.

4. To use CloudMagic you need to add your Gmail accounts first. Click on CloudMagic icon and then select Manage Accounts drop down arrow beside the search box.

5. In the following page, one more click brings you the add account page.

6. Add as many Google accounts you wish.

7. Next click on the Preferences link to set the search preferences. You are now all set to use CloudMagic.

The next time you open your GMail or Google Docs account you find a CloudMagic search box as shown in the screenshot below.
